Mambé is a traditional preparation made from the leaves of the coca plant, used by Indigenous communities in parts of the Amazon, including Peru and Colombia. Traditionally, the leaves are dried, finely ground and mixed with plant-based ashes to create a fine powder.
Mambé is deeply connected to Indigenous cultural practices, communal gatherings and the sharing of ancestral knowledge. It is often used during circles where participants come together to talk, listen, reflect and connect with one another.
In traditional settings, Mambé may accompany prayer, storytelling, meditation and discussions guided by elders or experienced practitioners. These gatherings create space for contemplation, cultural connection and the transmission of wisdom between generations.
At Paojilhuasca, a Mambé circle can be approached as an opportunity to slow down, listen mindfully and experience a traditional Amazonian practice within a respectful and supportive environment.
